Analytics Manager

Data is everywhere and everyone is collecting it. However, not everyone knows how to leverage it for growth, competitive advantage and delivering a superior customer experience.

As organisations collect more and more data about their business and customers, harnessing the value of that data becomes ever more important for achieving strategic goals. Understanding how their business operates and how their customers react can provide strategic and tactical opportunities for growth as well as a competitive advantage. Businesses can no longer afford not to leverage the opportunities which data provides.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our growing data science practice, which is a Partnership between Subatomic Analytics and Tribal worldwide London, for an Analytics Manager. The Analytics Manager will be responsible for delivery of actionable and impactful insight, based on data from various sources, support and manage the data science team on day to day activities and work with the Chief Data Scientist to ensure the team are optimally utilised.

This position will allow the successful candidate to play a pivotal role in the Tribal Data Science Team and being the key contact within the agency to ensure that the team is delivering great work for all our clients.  This is a hybrid management and hands on role, where you will manage analysts but still deliver outstanding analytical work.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate skills across the following areas.

Management Experience

  • Experience of managing a team of digital analyst, and able to help analysts with planning their career road map
  • Experience of setting priorities and delegating tasks and acting as the escalation point for the team
  • Experience of working in a digital agency and with the different teams within a digital agency, including senior management
  • Working with the operations team, to estimate projects costs and roles, ensuring data science team resources are available to deliver work and ensure that the data team is profitable.
  • Assist with recruitment, and be involved in the interviewing and onboarding of new team members

Insight and Analytics

  • Highly proficient in Adobe Analytics and/or Google Analytics with several years’ experience in using them on a day to day basis
  • Experienced in building reports and dashboards, knowledge of Google Data Studio would be desirable but not essential
  • Highly proficient in Excel and able to coach others in it’s use
  • Be able to take numbers and provide context, meaning and insights for the client, which should lead to recommendations to make changes or optimise existing activities
  • Experience of and presenting findings, including creating presentations which are clear and easy to understand
  • Working knowledge of conversion rate optimisation
  • Some understanding of how to debug tagging/tracking issues

Problem Solving

  • Where problems occur with numbers, be able to identify the source of the problem, whether that be tagging issues, formula issues in excel or using incorrect custom metrics.
  • Help clients understand what they want from the data, so it helps them answer the business question, this will include gathering business requirements and formulating briefs
  • Improving data quality and robustness by putting processes in place to ensure data is always collected accurately
  • Where possible, identifying opportunities to improve reports and dashboards and other aspects of client deliverables

Team work

  • Able to work closely with the other analysts to deliver on client briefs
  • Coordinating with the team to assign roles and responsibilities to get weekly and monthly reports out to the clients on time and to a high standard
  • Have regular calls/meetings with the rest of the data science team and the wider Tribal team to keep abreast of all client developments as well as updating everyone else
  • Help manage a project planner with the rest of the team to prioritise and schedule all requests, alongside using JIRA to keep track of the requests progress

Communications

  • Have excellent written and spoken English
  • Able to convey complicated numbers in simple graphs and charts
  • Good at using Microsoft PowerPoint to create compelling reports
  • Able to manage their time and project manage their own work
